The department Aveyron identifies itself through a
large variety of natural beauty.
One moment a charming green
hillside scenery, the next moment a rugged upland plain.
Sheer cliffs, jagged limestone
formations alternate with broad-leaved forests. The countryside is intersected
by innumerable rivers, among which the Aveyron, the Tarn and the Lot.
The Aveyron is a tourist
attraction but there is no mass tourism. In the immediate vicinity of
‘Domaine de Lapaloup’ are countless possibilities for those seeking peace
and quiet, the active holiday-maker and for those in search of cultural
influences. We take pleasure in advising our
guests when choosing an activity or an excursion. A limited run-down of the possibilities is shown here below:
v
The Chateau of Coupiac
v
Brousse le Chateau, one of the most beautiful villages of France
v Presqu'ile Ambialet
v
The Viaduct de Millau, the highest in the world
v The area of natural beauty of Montpellier-le-Vieux
v The fortress of Tempeliers and Knight Hospitaller
v Roquefort, with its cheese cellars
v
The Grands Causses (upland plains) The Causse Noir, Larzac,
Causse Méjean v
The beautiful cities of Rodez, Albi and of Toulouse and
Carcassonne situated further away
v Hiking and mountainbiking, there are various routes in the vicinity v Canoeing or kayaking, for example on the Tarn you can not only take a calm trip but also a wild water experience v
Sailing and other water sports on Pareloup lake
v Golfing on one of the six 18 holes golf courses in the region v And not to be forgotten the more extreme activities such as hang gliding, paragliding, potholing, rafting and bungee jumping… Or, why not do nothing all day,
with a good book in one hand and a good glass of wine in the other sat on a lazy
chair, just enjoying the splendid view from ‘Domaine de Lapaloup’ and just
listening to the silence…. |
